Public Perceptions of Rabbits with Woodgreen Pets Charity
10.15-10.45am Main Conference Theatre
This year, we welcome members of the Woodgreen team to present and talk around some of the studies they've been conducting as a charity on how society view rabbits, what Woodgreen's outreach programmes have taught them when it comes to guardians' perception and how they tackle prevention and intervention when they receive a call for help.
Speaking will be:Natalie, Research officer at Woodgreen Pets Charity, who is currently studying for a PhD at Hartpury University. Her research interests include the welfare of companion animals and understanding more about the knowledge and behaviour of the people connected to them.
Sam, Behaviour and training specialist for small animals at Woodgreen. She has worked there for almost ten years and her current role is quite varied to say the least – from giving behavioural and mixing advice to rabbit guardians, training staff and working with other animal charities.
Kattie, Outreach officer at Woodgreen. She works closely with rabbit guardians, providing education and early intervention to help prevent relinquishment and future suffering. She holds a postgraduate qualification in Animal Welfare, Policy, and Legislation, and is deeply passionate about being a voice for the animals who need it most.

Dental disease with Dr Ashton Hollwarth

Emergency Veterinary Care with Rin Voigt-Hill
12.15-12.45pm Main Conference Theatre
Rin (PhD, MSci, FHEA) is a vet nurse currently working in private practice in North Lincolnshire.
Rin made the switch to practice clinical work from research and teaching during the pandemic when rescue work overtook her academic interests, spurred on by winning Rabbit Support Staff of the Year at the Burgess Excel Vet Awards 2021.
Rin has special interests in rabbit emergency care, preventative care, and anaesthesia, and will be presenting a talk demystifying what actually happens in practice when rabbits present in emergencies.
She will also be reviewing what steps you can take as rabbit guardians to be prepared for emergencies and sharing her experience and knowledge from her perspective as both a veterinary professional and rabbit guardian. We are very excited for this talk and hope you are too! -
